Captain Vancouver's Journals Through an Indigenous Perspective

Coast Salish artist Wade Baker (Mintle-e-da-us) and Mary Tasi will present their book, The Hidden Journals: Captain Vancouver & His Mapmaker, which was published in 2015.

Wade Baker is the descendant of Captain Vancouver's mapmaker, Third Lieutenant Joseph Baker (the namesake of Mount Baker). Wade and his wife Mary will share their ten-year research journey and discovery of oral stories and Captain Vancouver's edited journals. They will also explore why these stories were practically "airbrushed out of official accounts".

Admission is $15 (online tickets link to come) and can be purchased at the door.
